Nerdy couples will always have a special space in my heart. <3
From the first e-mail (in which we discussed our mutual love of Harvest Moon and the Tenth Doctor… who is OBVIOUSLY the best doctor- hellloooooo!), to our excited discussions about our favorite Steam games at their fall Grand Ledge engagement session, I knew that Jimmy and Heather were going to be  an amazingly fun couple to photograph. 🙂
…I was right. 😉
Heather and Jimmy’s geek-inspired wedding day was every bit as epic as I knew it would be. I am SO EXCITED to share their wedding photographs with you!!!

The breeze meandered around the yard of the house as the girls busied themselves getting ready. My second shooter Lauren and I stole away the dress and accessories for a little photo lovin’…
At the church, Jimmy and the boys were nervously waiting….
Ahhhhh I love than grin!!
After formal photographs with the family, we headed out to Turner Park in Old Town for some fun portraits! It was still chilly- yay Michigan lol- but everyone made it through like champs! 😀 GO TEAM!
The boy’s boutonnieres were AWESOME- a perfect geeky touch, featuring favorites like Spiderman, Thor, Iron Man, ect!
After sending the bridal party to the reception, we stole away a few more minutes for just Jimmy and Heather…
…it’s a good thing Jimmy and Heather came along to class up the joint. Batman just wasn’t cool enough on his own. 😉
At last, the big entrance!!
Totally OWNING the phrase, “Go big or go home”, Marissa shocked Heather (and all of us!) by having called in the MSU Accafellas (who Heather adores) to serenade the crowd!
They were totally amazing, of course!!
Odin might not have been able to come in person- but he made a big appearance in spirit. 🙂 A decor piece featuring him was fun to read! 😀
Having a wedding on pie day means that you are morally obligated to provide pie (fact). Heather and Jimmy didn’t disappoint!! Each table got their own pie to enjoy, in a variety of flavors. 🙂
A basket of fun toys, coloring books, and other actives kept little ones busy. Totally awesome idea!!
Being big gamers, Jimmy and Heather’s group of friends extend worldwide. 🙂 Their gaming group, the LOLZ Brigade, was a big part of their day, and a lot of fun to photograph, too! 😉
As a surprise to her mom, Heather arranged to have a “mother-daughter” dance to “Wind Beneath My Wings” (and yes, mom cried as expected!)… but another surprise was coming..
…Partway into the song, the music cut out- and “Apache (Jump On It)” began! Heather’s brother joined in and together the three kicked off the dance floor for the night- mich to the delight of Heather’s mom! 😀

Great use of light. This post has a very natural feel to it. LOVE those party shots!
Just lovely. And that shot of the groomsmen on a bridge looks like a band photo. So good! 🙂
These are beautiful Heather, such great coverage throughout …
This ones a beauty Heather!
She looks amazing in her dress. I love the variety of locations in their portraits. Especially love the vibrant walls behind them.
Heather, I seriously think this is some of your best work. It’s a real testament that finding a photographer you click with makes magic because these two were your wedding couple soulmates and it really shows.
Oh my goodness, she is a DOLL!! What a lovely wedding Heather…nicely done.
