“Chris insisted that the 4th of July wasn’t complete without a fireworks display. So once everyone had said their good-byes after the family BBQ at my parents’ house on the 4th, we both drove out to Fowlerville for their firework display. We recapped the week’s events while pointing out our favorite firework lights.
Once the encore started, Chris turned and asked me, “Are you ready to spend the rest of our lives together?”. I was completely shocked and surprised, and rendered speechless. While he waited for me to say something he turned to his other side for a small box, bent down on one knee and asked me to marry him!! Still unable to speak, I gave him a kiss and realized that words had still not left my mouth when I finally said, “Of course! I love you!””
