Trent and Caitlyn met through a mutual friend she shows horses with. Thier mutual love for the laid-back country lifestyle led to love- and now, together with their (adorable!) dog, Boss, they love to go up north and do outdoorsy things like boating, snowmobiling, and jeeping.
But what I really adore about this couple is not only their fun personalities- but how, in those quiet, reflective moments- in the shots where I asked them to just breathe and “be”, they leaned in tightly and shared a soft “melting” into each other’s arms.. it was just so naturally where they were meant to be.
This post features my favorites from Trent and Caitlyn’s
engagement photographs at the Fenner Nature Center and MSU Dairy fields!

Can you believe that these amazingly cute people told me that they’re “awkward” in photographs?? 😉 I soon had them relaxed and feeling comfy- and they had me laughing throughout the session!
We definitely had to include Boss the Dog in some photographs, too. 🙂 We kept his photo time short and easy and gave him breaks in between- it’s hard being a model! 😉
After leaving Fenner Arboretum behind, we headed on over to the MSU Dairy Teaching & Research Center, where we were told that the cows would be happy to get a visit! Since Trent is a Dairy Farmer, we wanted to have a nod to his profession in the shoot- and I must say, these black and white beauties were so fun to photograph!!
Congratulations, Trent and Caitlyn! Your wedding is going to be a blast <3
